Tips for rosacea

Rosacea is a common chronic skin condition that flares up. It typically involves the rapid onset of red patches on the face. The cause of rosacea is unknown, but genetic predisposition appears to play a role.

However, there are factors that cause and/or worsen the condition (varies from person to person):
- hot drinks, strong herbs, sunlight and sauna baths,
- medicines containing cortisone, both tablets and creams,
- drinking alcohol.

Solutions:

Try to identify triggers and avoid sun exposure. If necessary, use a sunscreen with a high SPF (factor 30 or higher). Bio'ty Lab creams contain zinc, which is beneficial against rosacea flare-ups.

Tinted sunscreen that can be used in winter and summer:

Good SPF for people with medium skin tone: Seventy One Percent

Tinted SPF that adapts to your skin tone, is more medium/pale: Madara

If you like the effect of makeup in combination with SPF, then go for this one: RMS beauty, Radiance Tinted Serum SPF30

Stay out of the wind, avoid saunas or (very) hot showers, and adjust your diet if certain foods trigger redness. Use only natural cosmetics that won't clog your pores (i.e., without talc or silicone).
