Do's and don'ts: skincare ingredients

DO NOT:

Niacinamide + vitamin C

These substances are both antioxidants, which means that if you apply them to your skin shortly after each other, the effect of this active substance is significantly reduced.

Retinol + AHA/BHA

They are all types of exfoliants. Therefore, it is not recommended to combine these ingredients within the same routine.

If you do this, there is a greater chance of irritation and damage to the skin barrier. It will exfoliate too much.

Retinol + vitamin C

These are both active ingredients and should therefore not be used together. Because they have a different pH value. If you use these together, it is possible that the vitamin C is less effective or that the retinol is not activated.

Vitamin C + AHA/BHA

AHAs and BHAs, such as glycolic acid, salicylic acid and lactic acid, should never be combined with vitamin C. This is because vitamin C is also an acid and is unstable, so the pH value will be completely disrupted if we layer these ingredients on the skin. sight.

DO:

Retinol + hyaluron + ceramides

Retinol can cause your skin to be dehydrated at first. This is where ceramide will play a complementary role. You add this to your skin care routine so that it can maintain the moisture level of your skin while using retinol.

Hyaluron, like ceramide, helps to maintain hydration levels, but also ensures that your skin becomes plumper, making fine lines and wrinkles appear less visible.

These 3 ingredients do not clash and go very well together!

Niacinamide + hyaluron + AHA/BHA

These 3 together can be used together.

Hyaluronic acid is a moisturizing ingredient that can be used to properly hydrate the skin and prevent signs of irritation, dryness and redness.

If you are also going to use niacinamide, it is best to use it at a different time, such as one in the morning and the other in the evening or at least 30 minutes apart. This is because AHA/BHA and niacinamide have a different pH value.
